Virgin Fest has just announced a contest through Oh Henry! to give unsigned Indie bands a chance to play at this year's festival.    The contest is open to any Canadian band of any genre, and gives them the chance to play Virgin Festival Toronto, September 6th and 7th.

To enter, bands must goto www.whatfeedsyourhunger.ca and create a profile.  Fan voting will determine the top 20 bands and those will be broken down to the top five by a panel of judges including Edge102.1 programming director Alan Cross and Sir Richard Branson himself.  The top five will then be voted down to a single finalist once again by the fans online.

Toronto bands, lets show Virgin Festival what this city is made of!  We'll try to keep you posted here at TMS on which Toronto bands are leading the race and who to watch out for.  Keep checking the Toronto Music Scene blog for more details.

Important Dates To Remember:

July 11th - Last day to register and vote online
July 12th - Voting Ends.  Top 20 bands judged by panel.
July 25th - Top 5 announced.  Fan voting resumes.
August 16th - Road to Virgin Fest winner announced
