CMW Preview: the Junction Print E-mail
Toronto Band The Junction By: TJ Liebgott
March 10, 2010

If you plan on seeing the Junction at this years CMW, be sure and get there early.  I guarantee this show will be sold out well before their 1am show.  To tell us more about this jazz influenced, indie pop band is the Junctions bassist Matt Jameson.

How are you doing and where are you right now?

All is well! Just did a tour that brought us to some new places and now we're back home eager to begin crafting future sets and tunes. Right now I'm at work trying to make some money that I already spent on the road.

There are a lot of bands playing CMW, why should I watch yours?

For the tunes! Oh, and where we're playing is serving booze until 4am. Bang!

What are you doing to prepare for CMW?

Plucking our eyebrows. Not sure if Brent is going to have a beard or not. We'll see. I'd rather not know. Made me cry when i saw that beard coming in once. A beard of beauty.

What are you hoping to get out of the festival?

The same we hope for every single show...to deliver a tight show and hopefully make some sweat and smiles happen.

Tell me a tour story that is crazy but true.

Gah. I gotta think of a clean one. Ummm okay. How about googling snake eyes seven. We played a show with them in Winnipeg. 7ft steel smoke breathing snakes on either side of the stage? It felt like we were on tour with steel panther for one night.

What are you/your band working on at the moment?

New tunes and more touring. We're planning the next disc to be out in spring 2011 but still have a lot more life and love to put into "another link in the chain".  We're really trying to get the tunes into territories beyond Canada.

Any last parting words for us music-hungry Toronto folk?

Come see us at 1am at the horseshoe! Serving until 4am. The vibe there is always right. Love, the junction
