 Having opened for Maceo Parker at the Guvernment in Toronto, showcased two years in a row opening/closing the Toronto International Film Festival, licensed original songs for two movies (one starring Eugene Levy, the other Michael Madsen), sold out shows at the Reverb and Rivoli, and played weekly at the famed Orbit Room (owned by Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson), Planet Earth have only just scratched the surface. Having just released their third CD, Planet Earth prove that they are not just here for a one-off! Influenced by artists such as Bill Withers, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Tower of Power, A Tribe Called Quest, the Roots, and many others, it is no wonder that Planet Earth have been hailed Toronto's heaviest funk band. With each member bringing their unique sound to the group, the result is a power packed, funk sensation that is Planet Earth.
